Visual Journaling

Thanks to hogret on deviantART for the picture!

I was at Barnes and Noble the other day... I always go straight to the art section. I found some books!! The Journal Junkies Workshop is a great book for inspiration, ideas, tips, and tricks on how to create a beautiful visual journal. I was really interested in it because I don't really like to write that much. I would much rather paint or draw (even if I'm not that great at it). I've just started. Right now, my first page just looks like a mash up of different magazine clippings, words I wanted to get out, doodles, and neat splatters I created.

I also found a book called Water Paper Paint. It too gives tips, tricks and ideas for creating. However, this is mainly watercolor and mixed media, but it can definitely be employed in a visual journal... which is EXACTLY what I plan to do!

I'm so excited and can't wait to start this stuff!!!!

Ah, Paris.

When I was younger I used to always tell my mom that I would one day live under the Eiffel Tower in a box. I still hope to visit Paris, France someday... although I'm not sure about the box. I made that picture up there in photoshop today. Oooh, hopefully one day I will get to see the Eiffel Tower in person. It's my dream.

Learning

I am watching the President's State of the Union Address right now. He inspired me to post this post, mainly due to the part of his speech about America's colleges and universities. This is just going to be a quick post, but I love to learn. I realized it recently that I have a lot of interests. I wish I could get a degree in everything that I am interested in. I would definitely be well-rounded then! But I would also be able to choose to do different things, but everything would be something that I love.

Purple♥

© 2011 Hannah Curtis

Purple. The color of royalty. Mainly because the dye used to make it was so expensive, only people with enough money could afford it. Like me, it was Cleopatra's favorite color. I'm honestly not sure how I came to love it so much. I just know that a lot of the stuff I own is some shade of purple and the things I buy are based upon my favorite color.

Numba One!

First, I want to say hello and welcome to everyone who ends up reading this! I'm doing this blog thing for the fun of it and in hope of it becoming popular like some of my favorite blogs. I've wanted to start one since last summer but I could never come up with anything I wanted to blog about. My life really isn't that interesting. So the other day at work, it was really slow and I figured, hey, why not start that blog I've been thinking about. I often surf the web looking at things I really love. So I came up with the idea for my blog, For the love of stuff!

I really hope you enjoy it and if you do, please spread the word!!!  Thanks! Now let the things I love BEGIN!
